Eligibility and authority
By using Our First Text, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Notice. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract.
You may upload only conversations and photos you are authorized to use. You are responsible for obtaining permission from the people whose messages, names, images, or other personal information appear in the project. Do not use the service to expose, threaten, impersonate, harass, or exploit anyone.
Preview, generation, and review
A Page One project lets you confirm one exact text exchange and add one optional approved photo before displaying the server-rendered proof you would receive. You are responsible for checking names, message direction, spelling, punctuation, photo crop, and layout before checkout. Emoji are preserved in a consistent print-safe style that may differ from Apple or another messaging app; an unsupported sequence must be replaced before checkout. A paid digital Page One includes a private 3600 × 4800 PNG and 12 × 16 PDF generated from that approved proof.
The public sample is fictional and cannot enter checkout. A private project shows a designed Page One, editorial chapter direction, and selected excerpts before payment. Checking the approval control and continuing to checkout confirms that editorial direction. A paid digital order includes a private web book and downloadable PDF created from the source you approved. Hardcover availability, production times, shipping estimates, and physical characteristics are shown before purchase and may depend on a print provider.
Generated narration may contain mistakes or phrasing you would change. Review the preview and approval screen carefully. We do not promise that generated text is factually complete, legally sufficient, or suitable for a consequential purpose.
Letters from Santa. This separate digital product contains a curated fictional December story with 25 editable letters, a cover and supporting pages. A parent or authorized adult reviews chosen names, all words and the exact saved page proof before purchase. The paid edition includes that 33-page PDF and a private web reader; it does not include a bound book, postal delivery, toys, gifts or a subscription. Its 6 × 9-inch PDF can be used for personal home printing, but is not a certified commercial press-ready file. Handwriting options leave the dedication or memory page clear or ruled for writing after printing.
Temporary Page One sources are deleted after successful paid-artifact publication, and relationship-book sources are deleted after successful paid full-book generation. If a purchase does not finish, they are deleted by their 24-hour upload deadline. A payment or generation already in progress may delay deletion only until that protected handoff finishes.
Delivery estimates are targets, not guarantees. Provider outages, large histories, payment review, address problems, production delays, and carrier events can take longer. The status page remains the authoritative record for the order.
Your story stays yours
You retain the rights you already have in content you submit. You grant Our First Text a limited, worldwide license to host, copy, transform, and transmit that content only as needed to create, secure, deliver, support, and—if purchased and offered—print your keepsake.
You receive a personal, non-exclusive license to use the generated Page One or book for private, non-commercial purposes, including sharing with the intended recipient and printing personal copies. We do not guarantee that AI-generated material qualifies for copyright protection in every jurisdiction.
Our brand, software, templates, and service design remain ours. You may not scrape the service, bypass access controls, resell the template, probe other users’ projects, or use the system to develop a competing model or dataset.
Payment, repairs, and refunds
Prices, currency, taxes, shipping, the selected edition, and any optional Story Map add-on are shown in Stripe Checkout before payment. A charge is not authorization for duplicate generation or duplicate printing; uncertain provider outcomes are held for review.
If a paid digital keepsake fails technically, we will first repair or regenerate it without another charge. If we cannot deliver the paid digital product, the appropriate remedy is a refund of that product. For an offered physical product that arrives damaged, defective, or materially incorrect, contact support within 14 days of delivery with the order reference and non-sensitive evidence so we can evaluate replacement or refund options.
Because a personalized digital keepsake is made to order and becomes available immediately, preference changes alone may not qualify for a refund after successful delivery. Nothing in these terms limits a mandatory consumer right that applies where you live.
Service boundaries
The service is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, a particular emotional reaction, a specific delivery date, or commercial suitability.
To the extent permitted by law, Our First Text is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our aggregate liability arising from a paid order will not exceed the amount paid for that order. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.
We may suspend access needed to investigate fraud, a security threat, unlawful content, a rights complaint, or misuse. We may update these terms prospectively; material changes will carry a new effective date.
