Dear Avery,
The workshop is quiet tonight. The last ribbon is tied, the reindeer are resting, and I have a moment to write just to you. I hope you keep asking wonderful questions, making people laugh, and finding little ways to be kind. Those are gifts you can give all year. There is room in the world for your big ideas and your small, everyday wonders. Thank you for leaving a little magic in Christmas. It can be a drawing, a story, a song, or a laugh at exactly the right moment. None of it needs to be perfect to matter. I tried to save you a cookie. It has been a difficult evening. Now I must find my other mitten. It was here a moment ago, and the reindeer are looking suspiciously pleased with themselves. Have a wonderful Christmas, Avery.
